As it was reported before, Google finally announced the second generation Nexus 7 tablet. It’s still produced by Taiwanese manufacturer Asus. The name remains same, but with it has a new design and different specs compared to its predecessor.
Looking at the design, new Nexus 7 has slimmer bezel than old Nexus 7. It’s 2mm slimmer, 6mm narrower, and 50 grams lighter. Though battery capacity reduced from 4325mAh to 3950mAh, Google promises that with Android 4.3, it will have longer battery life.
Google claims that the tablet can survive up to 9 hours for playing HD video and 10 hours for browsing. New Nexus 7 is claimed to be 80% faster than its predecessor with four times better graphics performance.
There will be three models of Nexus 7, 16GB Wi-Fi, 32GB Wi-Fi, and 32GB Wi-Fi + 4G. The prices are $229, $269, and $349 respectively. It will be released to market starting from July 30th.

Besides announcing second generation Nexus 7, Google also announced Android 4.3. Previously, Android 4.3 has been installed on Google Play Store version of Galaxy S4 and HTC One, however it’s the first time Google announces it to public and explains some upgrades included on Google’s latest mobile operating system.
