ZTE is reportedly will launch a new smartphone called ZTE N986 for Asia market. From the leaked images on China telecomunication website, www.mtksj.com, ZTE N986 looks similar to Google Nexus 4. However, the phone has different hardware specs to keep production cost remains low.
ZTE N986 features a 5.0-inch 720p display. With a thickness of 9.4mm, it’s powered by MediaTek MT6589 chipset with quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz. Running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the phone provides 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB internal memory, and microSD card slot for expansion. The phone has two SIM card slots. For graphics, ZTE N986 relies on PowerVR SGX GPU.
For capturing images, the upcoming ZTE phone has two cameras, 8 megapixels main camera and 1.3 megapixels secondary camera. Some features equipped for the main camera are f/2.2 aperture, 4 lens design, auto focus, and LED flash. The camera is capable of recording Full HD 1080 video at 30fps.
There’s a 2300 mAh battery inside the device. The dual SIM smartphone is expected to be priced at 1599 Yuan ($259), a reasonable price for a quad-core smartphone with latest operating system and good hardware specifications.
