VMK Elikia and VMK Way-C, The First African Smartphone and Tablet

Verone Mankou or VMK is a smartphone and tablet producer from Congo, Africa. Recently, VMK released its first smartphone and tablet, VMK Elikia and VMK Way-C.

VMK Elikia is the first smartphone desgined and manufactured in Africa. Before releasing Elikia smartphone, VMK has produced and sold a tablet namely Way-C. VMK Elikia is not a high-end smartphone, but it’s an entry-level smartphone like Samsung Galaxy Y.

VMK Elikia brings a display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels (QVGA), using capacitive mutli-touch technology with 256K colors. Powering the handset is a 650 MHz single-core processor supported by 512 MB. The internal memory is only 126 MB with microSD support. It’s considered sufficient to run Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread. VMK Elikia is also equipped with a 1300 mAh battery, 3G HSPA, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and microUSB 2.0 port.

VMK Way-C tablet comes with a 480 x 800 pixels WVGA capacitve multi-touch display supporting 16 million colors. It features 1.2 GHz single-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of built-in storage. The tablet also has 4200 mAh battery, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, microSD slot, and microUSB port.
