Sony Xperia Z Ultra Goes Official With 6.4-Inch Full HD Display and Snapdragon 800 SoC

After Samsung announced Galaxy Mega with 6.3-inch 720p display, now it’s time for Sony to announce a big phablet in Xperia Z series. The phablet called Xperia Z Ultra comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip at 2.3 GHz and 6.4-inch Full HD 1080p display.

With a weight of 212 grams, it means that Xperia Z Ultra is 50 grams heavier than Xperia Z. However the device is very slim, only measures at 6.5mm thick. From 16 GB of internal storage, 11 GB is user-accessible. If it doesn’t enough, user can add a microSD card up to 64 GB. In terms of display, Xperia Z Ultra has a 6.4-inch display with 1080p resolution. The display uses Triluminous technology that provides wider and richer color gamut. It’s also equipped with X-Reality technology for mobile that enhances image reproduction and sharpness levels. Besides water-resistant, the Xperia Z Ultra’s display supports handwriting input even with a pencil, stylus, or pen with a diameter of 1mm.

Xperia Z Ultra has an 8 MP main camera with Exmor RS sensor and secondary camera with a resolution of 2 MP. Running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Sony equips it with a 3000 mAh battery. The phone will be launched worldwide in the third quarter of this year in three color choices – black, purple, and white.S
