For this time, Sony has ordered Foxconn to produce Xperia Tipo. Two other companies, Compal and Arima, are ordered to assemble low-end Android smartphones in 2013.

This decision is taken by Sony because it has found appropriate products for this segment. Sony plans to sell million cellphones under $200, but Taiwan assemblers warn Sony that the shipment may be lower than Sony’s expectation¬†because of an overlapping product portfolio and confusing marketing efforts.
