China is one of the biggest smartphone market in the world. However, some top vendors get difficulties to dominate smartphone market in that country. Though it’s not as unique as Japan, there are many local vendors offer affordable smartphones with great specs.
Sony and HTC are reportedly will follow Chinese manufacturers’ way f by releasing smartphone with affordable quad-core chip produced by MediaTek. This time, a Sony smartphone image claimed as Sony C3 appears. It could be the first Sony smartphone with MediaTek chip.
Sony is working on new smartphone for Chinese market. It’s reported that Sony C3 will have a 5-inch display with HD 720p resolution and quad-core MediaTek MTK6589T with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz. The news from MTKSJ also includes a render, but we don’t sure that the image is real. Look at the dock and it doesn’t like the dock on other Sony smartphones, but it’s the same dock you will find on an HTC smartphone with HTC Sense.
However, rumor that HTC and Sony will launch quad-core MediaTek powered smartphone is a good news for most people considering that the price of those smartphones will be cheaper than smartphones with quad-core Snapdragon chip.
