Samsung confirms that it will launch some smartphones with Tizen OS this year. Tizen is an open source operating system based on Linux in cooperation with Intel and Samsung as developer partners.
Rumor that Samsung will keep away from Android after Google’s acquisition of Motorola emerges again. According to Samsung Korea statement reported by Bloomberg, it will release Tizen devices that can compete with other smartphones.
Japanese newspaper Yomiru Shimbun recently also reported that Samsung plans to announce Tizen smartphone at MWC next month. Samsung will cooperate with local operator NTT DoCoMo for marketing the handset.
