A report from South Korean investment company revealed that the third-generation Galaxy Note will use a 6-inch AMOLED screen. The report also indicates that the screen is not flexible.
In Korea Investment & Securities Co.’s document, Samsung chooses AMOLED screen type instead of LCD. OLED screen is Samsung’s flagship product which also raises the company. That’s why OLED display is used on Samsung flagship smartphones like Galaxy Note 3.
Previously, the first two Galaxy Notes use AMOLED display. First generation Galaxy Note comes with a 5.3-inch AMOLED PenTile display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, while Galaxy Note 2 has a 5.5-inch AMOLED non-PenTile display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
Furthermore, the report also indicates that Galaxy Note 3 display is not flexible OLED type (Youm) as it was rumored before. According to the investment company, the production of Youm screen can’t meet the demand of Galaxy Note 3.
Not only Samsung Display, but the delay of flexible display production is also experienced by other Korean manufacturer, LG Display.
