Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 or Samsung Jena or Samsung S6500 is the successor of Samsung Galaxy Mini. What has been improved from the first generation Galaxy Mini GT-S5570?
Galaxy Mini 2 has a slightly larger display. The display size is 3.27-inches compared to 3.14-inches. What makes the Galaxy Mini 2’s display better is the resolution. With its 320 x 480 pixels, it has 176 ppi pixel density. The old GT-S5570 comes with 240 x 320 pixels resolution with only 127 ppi pixel density. Very low pixel density is the main disadvantage for GT-S5570 users.
The processor of Galaxy Mini 2 has a clock speed of 800 MHz (200 MHz faster than GT-S5570 with 600 MHz processor). That makes the performance better.
The internal storage capacity is increase to 4 GB. The old Galaxy Mini only has 160 MB. Some Android applications are not movable to SD card. With only 160 GB, the old Galaxy Mini users can’t install many applications on their phone even if the phone is rooted.
Both of phones come with 3 MP camera. The Camera of GT-S5570 can record video with QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) as maximum resolution. The new Galaxy Mini can record VGA (640 x 480 pixels). The captured frame per second is also increased from 15 fps to 25 fps.
The connectivity features which are not available on GT-S5570 are Near Field Communicator (NFC) and DLNA. Galaxy Mini 2 also get faster Bluetooth (3.0).
As the successor of GT-S5570, Galaxy Mini 2 gets better specifications. It’s still an entry-level smartphone, but it is better than its predecessor.
