Sony Mobile is reportedly preparing two flagship handsets that will be released in the second half of this year. The code names of those two handsets are ‘Honami’ and ‘Togari’. Based on circulating information, Togari has bigger display than Honami.
According to information revealed through Baidu forum, someone who claims to be a Sony Xperia device tester says that Togari has a 6.44-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080p Full HD) resolution. He adds that the design is similar to Xperia Z and likewise the thickness, with back cover made of glass.
The source also says that the white color version is similar to Xperia ZL, white on the back, bezel, and also front side of the phone. As we know, the white color on Xperia Z is only on the side and back, while the front and bezel are still black.
From those two devices, the most interesting is Honami. The device is believed to be the next flagship from Sony which offers the best features of Sony. Honami is said to bring a 5-inch display with 1080p Full HD resolution, Walkman audio chip (S-Master MX Digitial Amplifier), and 20 MP CMOS camera with Cyber-Shot and Carl Zeiss lens. That amazing camera is equipped with dual LED or xenon flash.
The tester source says that Hanomi will be the most interesting phone Sony ever made, even more than Xperia Z. Like other Sony flagship smartphones, Honami and Togari are also water and dust resistant.
According to some information compiled by ePrice Chinese website, Honami will start its debut in China with Unicom operator in July 2013 and internationally in August or September. From the mentioned time, there’s a possibility that the international release will be held at IFA event in Berlin.
The site also stated that Honami most likely will be powered by the most advanced smartphone processor at this time from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 800 quad-core with a clock speed of 2.3 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU. RAM capacity is 2 GB, with 2700 mAh or 3000 mAh battery.
Other information from VR-Zone says that the handset will use Triluminos display, the latest technology from Sony that’s able to produce better and more textured color. This technology can be likened as a field with the touch of color pencils on the screen. But, it says that the camera is 16 megapixels, not 20 megapixels as mentioned above.
