Android 4.3 is still called Jelly Bean like 4.1 and 4.2. What are new features and improvements available on Android 4.3?
Multi-user support has been updated, so it allows restricted profile. A user profile on Android 4.3 can be set so that user can only access certain contents and apps
Pre-loaded apps are also updated with the presence of Hangouts to replace Talk and Keep. Drive, Chrome, and Maps are updated too.
The improved notifications allows user to see notification history. Third-party app can access the notifications too, so it will help synchronization with smartwatch or other devices.
Non-interface changes also included, like Open GL ES 3.0 support for 3D view. Google also announced Google Play Games application, which saves all game information played by friends as well as high score of a game.
Bluetooth 4.0 support with Low Energy mode will be included directly, third party driver is no longer needed. AVRCP support for Bluetooth also added, so metadata can be sent to wireless speaker. Wi-FI can also be used to determine user position better, it can be configured to remain on.
Google also fixed Master Key bug that was announced some time ago. New encryption that supports DRMis also added, so well-known content providers will be more interesting to provide high quality contents for Android. One of them is Netflix, which has provided 1080p streaming via Play Store
Android 4.3 update will be available soon for all Nexus devices including Nexus 4, 7, and 10, as well as Google Play Edition of Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
