NASA has launched many things to outer space such as people and outer ships. Recently, NASA launched three units HTC one smartphones to outer space as a part of PhoneSat experimental program for low-budget satellite.
NASA plans to develop satellite using unusual equipment that’s expected to cost less than $10,000. At this time, three units of HTC One are sent out to circle the earth at an altitude of approximately 150 miles inside a 4-inch box.
In the next two weeks, all of the three phones will come back after taking pictures of Earth and transmitting messages via radio. According to NASA employees, the purpose of launching those three smartphones is to know the capacity of a smartphone and make a research whether a smartphone can be used as satellite “brain” in future.
