LG has confirmed that Optimus G2 will launch at an event held on August 7th, 2013 in New York. In LG’s home country, South Korea, Optimus G2 will be available on August 20th.
Previous leakage information about the device said that LG G2 will use Snapdragon 800 chipset with Adreno 330 GPU, 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display, 3 GB of RAM, 13 MP camera, and 2700 mAh battery. For international version, the RAM is only 2 GB. The LTE-Advanced version for South Korea will get 3 GB of RAM. The most interesting thing is the placement of power and volume buttons. Unlike other smartphone that has power and volume button on the left or right side, on Optimus G2, those mentioned button are on the back below the camera.
Besides G2, LG is reportedly working on Nexus 5, which is based on G2 and will launch after G2 on October 5th. The device is rumored to run Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
