LG Optimus L5 has a 4-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 480 display, while Sony Xperia Miro comes with a 3.5-inch display with the same resolution. The display of Optimus L5 is larger than Miro, consequently it has very low pixel density, only 144 ppi pixel density. While, Xperia Miro’s pixel density is 165 ppi. Both of them has low pixel density, not comfort for reading text for a long time. Like another Sony smartphone, Xperia Miro’s display is boosted with Mobile Bravia Engine technology.
They are powered by single-core 800 Mhz processor.
RAM and storage
Each of them has 4 GB of built-in storage and 512 MB of RAM. 2.5 GB of internal storage is available on the Optimus, while the Xperia has 2.2 GB of user-available storage.
They come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed, customized with Optimus UI on L5 and Timespace UI on Miro.
Those phones have a 5 megapixel camera on the rear with LED flash, auto focus, geo tagging, and touch focus. Face and smile detection as well as 3D sweep panorama are provided on the Xperia. They only record video at VGA resolution. For Miro, the video recording is equipped with continuous auto focus, video stabilizer, and video light. A secondary camera is provided on Miro, but not for L5.
In terms of connectivity, they have GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, HSUPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, and micro USB 2.0 port. Like another Sony smartphones, the Bluetooth version is still 2.1, while its rival comes with faster Bluetooth 3.0. However, DLNA, and Wi-Fi Direct is only available on Xperia Miro. The Xperia also supports USB on-the-go, which is a very important feature for some people.
Although they have the same battery capacity (1500 mAh), L5 is claimed to give much better stand-by time and talk time.
Dimensions and weight
The dimensions of Xperia Miro are 113 x 59.4 x 9.9 mm, while Optimus L5 are 118.3 x 66.5 x 9.5 mm. Miro is lighter with only 110 gram of weight, compared to 125 gram.
The design of Xperia Miro looks more beautiful than Optimus L5 for us, especially with the light above Xperia logo.
They have similar specifications. If you look for a device with USB OTG, DLNA, and Wi-Fi Direct, you should go with Xperia Miro. It also provides better video recording and the design looks more luxury. In the other hand, Optimus L5 has a bigger display, longer battery life, and newer Bluetooth version.
