Currently, Lenovo’s marketing strategy focuses on Asian market. In its homecountry, China, the vendor has became the second largest phone manufacturer after Samsung. Lenovo smartphones lineup is called LePhone in China, while outside China, the phone is better known as IdeaPhone. Since January 2013, all Lenovo phones use Android OS.
However, Lenovo never has never entered the second largest smartphone market in the world, United States. Formerly, K800 smartphone was announced at CES 2012 in Las Vegas, but the product is not sold in US. Now, according to an executive, Lenovo is going to enter US smartphone market.
In China, Lenovo wants to increase the production capacity to beat Samsung as the number one smartphone vendor in China currently. According to latest report, the market share of Samsung in China is 17.3%, while Lenovo is 13.1%.
