Amazon Kindle Fire will be a year old in next November. Not until a year, Amazon will launch the second generation Kindle Fire. The company hasn’t announced the name of the tablet, but most likely it will be named Kindle Fire 2.
According to a source about Amazon’s plan, Kindle Fire 2 will be thinner and lighter. The device will have a display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels (HD) like Asus Google Nexus 7. The previous Kindle Fire only has a 1024 x 600 pixels display. The display looks more square because the aspect ratio is changed from 1.71 to 1.6.
Kindle Fire 2 will come in two versions. The first version which has a 7-inch display called Coyote and the other which has a 10-inch display called Hollywood. Coyote is powered by a dual-core processor like the current Kindle Fire, while the Hollywood is powered by a quad-core processor.
The devices are likely to be shipped before September.
