HTC is reportedly preparing its new flagship smartphone. According to a secret resource, the handset has code name M7 and estimated to be announced at 2013 Mobile World Congress.
M7 will be equipped with a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, so it has 468 ppi of pixel density, better than HTC Butterfly which has the same display resolution but larger screen size. As a comparison, the display is 40% higher than iPhone 5. It uses optical lamination technology. Called SoLux, the display offers some improvements over Super LCD2. The improvements include viewing angle, outdoor view, and color accuracy.
In terms of performance, M7 is equipped with second generation quad-core processor from Qualcomm clocked at 1.7 GHz. The RAM capacity is 2 GB and the internal storage is 32 GB.
HTC One X/X+ has an 8 megapixel camera sensor with f/2.2 aperture size, while HTC M7 will use a 13 megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture size. Hardware improvement allows the camera to produce better image and video quality. The front-facing camera has a resolution of 2.0 MP and capable to record Full HD 1080p video.
The handset is also said to have stereo speaker and use Beats amplifier to purify voice when making a call. This feature is called Clear Words.
For Wi-Fi connectivity, M7 supports Wi-Fi 802.11ac, which is claimed to transfer data three times faster than 802.11n. HTC M7 also supports LTE network and runs Android Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.
