HTC Butterfly S or also known as DLX Plus is a high-end Android smartphone, an upgraded version of original HTC Butterfly. The display is still 5.0-inch FHD 1080p Super LCD 3, now with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Like HTC One, it’s powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T SoC with quad-core Krait 300 CPU at 1.9 GHz and Adreno 320 GPU. The chip delivers powerful performance on a smartphone running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Butterfly S is equipped with a sophisticated 5.0 MP Ultrapixel rear camera. For faster image capturing and better photo results, a dedicated HTC ImageChip 2 is included. The camera has F2.0 aperture size, 28 mm lens, 2.0 µm pixel size, and 1/3″ sensor size. It has a LED flash with Smart Flash that adjust flash brightness level based on condition. Ohter camera features include BSI sensor, HDR photo & video, continuous shooting and VideoPic, HTC Zoe. The front-facing camera is 2.1 MP and it supports HDR too.

Though it doesn’t come with 4G LTE support, HSPA+ up to 42Mbps is still fast enough. The Butterfly S features the latest Wi-Fi technology with support for 802.11ac. NFC, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, and micro USB 2.0 port are available too. Dual frontal stereo speakers on the front with built-in amplifiers with HTC Beats Audio and HTC BoomSound make Butterfly S one of the best smartphones in terms of audio quality, appropriate for those who like listening to music. Surprisingly, HTC equips the device with a 3200 mAh battery (it’s rare to see a HTC smartphone with high capacity battery) and it’s a lithium-polymer type, which is better than standard lithium-ion. Like the One, Butterly S also comes with Sense 5 and HTC BlinkFeed.
