Google has spread an invitation for some parties to attend an event held on July 24th in San Francisco. The event will be led by Sundar Pichai, Senior Vice President For Android and Chrome. Unfortunately, the invitation doesn’t mention about the event topic.
It’s very possible that Google will announce second generation Nexus 7 (most likely will be named Nexus 2 7″) tablet considering that the host for that event is the boss of Android and Chrome and the first Nexus 7 was announced in July 2012. Other reason is the prices of new Nexus 7 have been leaked.
Second gen Nexus 7 will use quad-core processor and 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage. For 16 GB version, Nexus 7 will be priced at $229, while the 32 GB version will be priced at $269. No information about chip manufacturer, whether remains from Nvidia or change to Qualcomm Snapdragon. Most likely Nexus 7 still uses a 1080 x 1920 pixels display. It will have a 5 MP camera and run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Besides the possibility of Nexus 7 announcement, event on July 24th may be used to announce Moto X, the first Motorola handset after Google acquisition. However, the possibility is very small because the host is not associated with Motorola. Another possibility is the announcement of Android 4.3 and no device announced at that time.
Truth about that event will be released on July 24th, 2013. You can watch the event via streaming on YouTube.
