Foxconn, a Honhai subsidiary in China that assembles iPhone and other gadgets, recently has recruited 3000 apps developer to develop applications for Firefox OS. Those 3000 developers are ordered to create HTML5 based applications intended for the new mobile operating system from Mozilla.
The recruitment is a realization of cooperation between Mozilla and Foxconn that has been signed before. Previously, Foxconn planned to recruit only 1000 developers, but the company finally recruited 3000 people after evaluating the importance of the new operating system.
Foxconn has confirmed that the company is working on five gadgets based on Firefox OS for other OEMs. Some companies known to be working with Mozilla for Firefox OS are LG, ZTE, Huawei, Alcatel, and 18 operators around the world. The first Firefox OS device is expected to launch shortly.
