The third generation of Corning’s product used as screen protector is ready to make its debut in market. Gorilla Glass 3 is scheduled to be annoucned at Consumer Electrnoics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next week.
Corning Gorilla Glass 3 or also mentioned as GG3 has some improvements over the first and second generation. GG3 is equipped with an exclusive feature called Native Damage Resistance (NDR). According to Corning, this feature reduces crack spreading, reduces the emergence of scratch, and offers better strength.
Corning claims that GG3 has improvement of scratch resistant up to 3 times, reduce scratch up to 40%, and imrpove display realiability up to 50%. As an illustration, GG3 can protect a handset dropped from a height of 1.5 meters.
