In an interview of CrackBerry with RIM CEO, Thorsten Heins, it is known why the launch of BlackBerry 10 device is delayed. Heins says that he can easily launch BlackBerry 10 smartphone to the market on time, but he choose to wait because RIM doesn’t want to sacrifice the phone quality.
The first reason is RIM wants to release high-quality product with good platform stability which has become the key-selling of BlackBerry smartphone. Heins says that the phone will be released in January or February next year. Heins also confirms that the delay of touchscreen BlackBerry 10 smartphone will not affect BlackBerry 10 smartphone with physical qwerty keyboard. On the other word, those two BlackBerry smartphones will be released at the same time in Q1 2013.
Actually the lab and technical section will give approval in Q4 2012. However the preparation of the operator takes time, so the launch will be delayed to Q1 2013. It is said that if the vendor wants to get full attention from the operator, the product should be ready in September or October. Then the staff will be trained and the marketing will be started in mid November. If it starts in November-December, the product will not get attention from operator efficiently.
