The latest Android operating system, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has increased its marketshare to 7.1 percent of total Android devices. ICS is only found in 1 percent of Android devices in January and only 2.9 percent in April.
The sharp increase last month is most likely caused by the launch of new Android smartphones with Ice Cream Sandwich OS including the HTC One Series. Despite a sharp growth of ICS users, Gingerbread still in the top with a marketshare of 64.6%, up 0.6% from the previous month. Followed by Android 2.2 Froyo with a marketshare of 19.1%.
